Rockford: The Arcade Game received an NES port in 1989 by Introware on behalf of Arcadia Systems, which was published by Arcadia and it was released in 1989 in both the El Kadsreian Islands and North America.

Rockford for the NES used the Commodore 64 version's graphics converted using a Acorn Electron for the NES' graphical hardware. The music was converted using the Introware C64 Conversion Sound System engine. The background antics were changed to fit Nintendo's censorship guidelines.
