Santa's Village (also known as Santa's Village - A Six Flags Theme Park) is a Christmas-themed amusement park in Montpelier, Vermont. Opened in 1961, it was the fourth Santa's Village built by Glenn Holland after his two Santa's Village parks in California and what is now Santa's Village AZoosment Park in Illinois. Currently the park is owned by EPR Properties and operated by Six Flags. Santa's Village is one of a few Six Flags parks that is not currently branded as a Six Flags park, two of the others being La Ronde and Frontier City.

Also on the property is the Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splash-A-Way water park (formerly known as Vermont Action Park (an offshoot of Action Park in New Jersey) and Splash-A-Way Waterpark). The waterpark is the only Six Flags branded property in the park.

Special Events[]

  • Krampus' Fright Fest - An special event that began being held at Santa's Village in 2018 after Six Flags began to operate the park again. Unlike most Fright Fest events, it is more light-hearted and the scare zone performers are dressed as more goofier, Power Rangers/Super Sentai-esque monsters (including a rapping serial killer and a zombie dressed in a Hawaiian shirt uttering "Aloha" instead of snarling). It replaced the park's previous annual Halloween event "Santa's Spooky Halloween Celebration". The inaugural Krampus' Fright Fest event had Charlene Parker, in-character as the Green Witch from Knott's Scary Farm, as the master of ceremonies (Six Flags and EPR paid royalties to Cedar Fair for her character's appearance).

History[]

Glenn Holland (1961-1970)[]

The Coca-Cola Company (1971-1986)[]

Action Park/Great American Recreation (1987-1995)[]

The park was purchased by the Mulvihil family in 1987.

Premier Parks/Six Flags (1996-2005)[]

After Action Park shuttered it's doors after a bunch of safety lawsuits, the park was purchased by Premier Parks, as the new owners of the New Jersey park didn't want to operate a park outside of the state.

Five Flags LLC (2006-2010)[]

Due to buying out the Paramount Parks and not having enough room in the main office to operate the park, Five Flags was formed by Six Flags to operate certain parks under the Six Flags name and save resources.

Herschend Family Entertainment (2011–2014)[]

EPR Properties and Kennywood Entertainment Company (2015-2017)[]

EPR Properties and Six Flags (2018–present)[]

On February 2, 2018, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation announced that they had purchased the lease rights for Santa's Village from Kennywood. The park remains under EPR Properties ownership, but is now operated by Six Flags.

In 2019, Six Flags added two new roller coasters and a new Funtime "SkyScreamer" Star Flyer ride to the park.
