Seek the Fate is a Canadian rock band formed in 1991 by vocalist Kylie Davenport and guitarist Kenn Rackham. Famous as one of the few female-fronted grunge bands (and one of the few Canadian grunge bands to attain success overseas), the original line-up featured Davenport (vocals), Rackham (guitar), and brothers Will Danneberg (bass) and Jeffrey Danneberg (drums), though that version of the band was mired by turmoil that would eventually see Davenport fired for arguing with Rackham over musical interests, and Jeffrey Danneberg fired for threatening to kill Rackham. The lineup that recorded their sole top 10 hit on either side of the U.S.-Canada border, "Don't Say Your Goodbyes", involved vocalist Liza Degner and drummer Paul Berndtsson. Seek the Fate were the second Canadian act to sign with influential Seattle label Sub Pop, after Eric's Trip.
Despite several lineup changes and brief breakups, Seek the Fate continued to tour and record until Rackham's 1998 death from a morphine overdose. Although there are no original members left in the band, Degner, now based in Toronto, reformed Seek the Fate in 2005 with the blessing of Rackham's family and Davenport. The band currently consists of Degner (vocals), Sam Simensen (guitar), Gabriel G. Santos (bass) and Degner's nephew Chris Trottier (drums).
