Sid Meier's Pirates is the 1991 Game Boy version of the 1987 MicroProse game of the same name for home computers. It was ported by Introware from the Amstrad CPC port and was released by MicroProse and Bandai only in the El Kadsreian Islands, and by Konami internationally (under the Ultra Games label in the US and Palcom Software label in Europe. The music and sound effects from the Commodore Amiga version was used instead of the Amstrad version's sound effects and were converted by Eeli Ikäheimo using the Introware Sound Engine.
Gameplay
The Game Boy port is the same as the Amstrad CPC port but the graphics are different and in black and white in order to fit the Game Boy's resolution.
