Sliming The Night is a single by Jetanie record producer DJ Slime and Jetanie singer Newb Pwn Rocker, released as an April Fools' Joke on 27th March 2009. It was released under no label at all, with its only promotion being in Slime Time Tonight and The Slime Centre advertisements. Despite all this, the song managed to top the Jetanie charts.
Background[]
The song was first heard on BBC Radio 1 in the United Kingdom on 13th March 2009. It was not heard in Jetania until it was premiered on Z Bop the following day.
Sliming The Night is an electro, comedy pop song, which features guitars and drums in its beat. DJ Slime says that the song "does not really have a theme", and it is "just Rocker singing and doing his thing".
The song was used in advertisements for The Slime Centre from March 2009 until November 2010, and an instrumental version of the song has been used as the theme of Slime Time Tonight since 2009.
Music videos[]
There are two music videos for the song. The first music video was first shown the same time the song was originally premiered on Z Bop and is essentially a compilation of contestants getting slimed on Slime Time Tonight.
Another music video was premiered on Slime Time Tonight on 1st May 2009, which features DJ Slime and Newb Pwn Rocker in The Slime Centre, with various pedestrians making cameo appearances. Everybody in the video is seen with a different colour of slime on their hands. As the video progresses, everybody presses their hands full of gunge onto the screen, and by the end of the video, the screen in completely covered in slime. The video was uploaded to YouTube the following day and has over 7 million views as of September 2017.
