Sony Channel is a YinYangian pay television channel owned by Sony Pictures Television, launched in 2004. Its headquarters are located at the Sony Plaza in Hodo, New Kasukabe.

It airs syndicated television shows and movies, predominantly American and Canadian, sometimes rerunning ended shows.

History[]

Sony Channel was launched on August 28, 2004 as Sony Entertainment Television, and was only launched on few cable providers. It originally aired shows from Lifetime and Star Channel, but later expanded to local production in 2006, with the airing of People of the Skies, but failed.

In 2008, the channel rebranded, airing programming with AXN, and started broadcasting on satellite television. It later expanded to all other cable providers in YinYangia.

In 2016, Sony Entertainment Television was renamed to Sony Channel. It rebranded in 2019.
