Space Quest: The Sarien Encounter is the 1989 NES port of the 1986 Sierra On-Line game from home computers. It was converted by Introware from the Apple IIgs version and it was published by Sierra On-Line in El Kadsre and Konami under its Ultra Games label in the United States. The music and sound effects from the Commodore Amiga version were used instead of the Apple II version and were converted by Eeli Ikäheimo using the Introware Sound Engine, which is one of the first games to use the driver (the driver later went on to be used in Introware's NES port of Skweek).

Gameplay

The gameplay is the same as the Apple IIgs version, but the graphics are different to fit the NES' resolution.
