Just like the internet, Nintendosia is also infamous for banning airing of some TV commercials.
List[]
Name | Ban date | Ban lifted | Reason | Note(s) |
---|---|---|---|---|
You Cannot Beat Us | 1987 | There were rumors about this commercial causing 1 million suicides to children between the ages of 6 and 14. | ||
Genesis does what Nintendon't | Sometime around 1989 | Nintendosia doesn't accept console wars. | ||
Kirby's Dream Land 2 U.S. Commercial | 1995 | According to the Nintendosian News, this commercial led to a kid announcing to his mom that something weird happened on TV. The mom checked it out and she was scared. The kid said that Rick, Kine, and Coo are angry and that they supposedly "stared into his own soul". The Japanese commercial airs in Nintendosia instead of the one aired in the United States. | ||
Kirby Super Star U.S. Commercial | 1996 | Banned due to its use of inflated people. The Japanese commercial was aired instead. | Ironically, the Kirby games are not banned in Nintendosia, despite the main character having the ability to inhale enemies. | |
Gusto Commercial | Sometime around the 2010s | A year later | When people saw a man without his head, they did the same thing in real life, causing 100 deaths. The ban was lifted a year later with a change to the commercial where the unattached head was changed to the body with his head attached, whereas the unattached body was changed to a Gaming Game employee, also with a head attached. |
