Taranotochi (たらの土地 Tara no tochi), officially known as the Democratic Republic of Taranotochi and formerly known as the Democratic Republic of El Kadsre until 2022, is a island country located in central Aritonesia. It is located off the coast from its neighboring country El Kadsre and also has maritime boundaries with Kowokam. Its capital and largest city is Makohiro.

History[]

Prehistory: 1950-1958[]

North El Kadsre: 1958-1969[]

In 1958, more people of various ethnic origins arrived in El Kadsre and the English language was introduced even more than ever before. Maori culture was introduced to the country as well, but some El Kadsreians weren't very happy with the Maori's population increase in the country, which lead to numerous protests. This then caused El Kadsre to be split up into three nations by the United Nations, North El Kadsre (Socialist Republic of El Kadsre), West El Kadsre (Commonwealth of El Kadsre) and East El Kadsre (Republic of El Kadsre). After the split-up of El Kadsre, the Soviets occupied the Socialist Republic of El Kadsre until the 1961 coup d'état, when their communist government was overthrown by the pro-Kayosist nationalist government and it was renamed to the Democratic Republic of El Kadsre.

Vlokozu Union: 1969-1982[]

On November 11, 1969, West El Kadsre, North El Kadsre, Mahri and Sentan signed the UVS Creation Treaty and the Declaration of the Creation of the UVS, forming the Vlokozu Union. North El Kadsre was administered as the Northern Vlokozuian State of El Kadsre.

However, from the start, North El Kadsre was considered by the Vlokozuian government as part of El Kadsre. This caused anger from the North El Kadsreians, who considered themselves as having a seperate identity and culture than El Kadsre. The popular Tara Fujimoto, former President of the DR El Kadsre and Governor of North El Kadsre, echoed this sentiment.

North El Kadsre independence: 1982-1989[]

On March 13, 1982, The Northern Vlokozuian State of El Kadsre voted to declare independence from the Vlokozu Union. This later led to the massacre of North El Kadsreian activists on March 15. However, the union turned North El Kadsre into a special administrative region.

Modern era: 1989-present[]

After the dissolution of the Vlokozu Union, the Democratic Republic of North El Kadsre rapidly became a modernized country.

In April 16, 2022, Katashi Minami announced that the Democratic Republic of North El Kadsre had renamed itself to “Taranotochi”, to mark the 40th anniversary of the death of Tara Fujimoto, the second leader of North El Kadsre. The new name “Taranotochi” means “Tara’s land” in Japanese. The name change has been the biggest change in the map of Aritonesia since Nueva Peking’s independence in 1995, and the first renaming of a country since North Macedonia in 2019.
