History[]
Teleguan launched on August 13, 1965 and was founded by amateur radio operators Primitivo Lombroso and Ernesto Hildago MariƔtegui and electronics engineer Luciano Demicheli, a relative of future president Alberto Demicheli. The channel was named for the dusky-legged guan bird. From Teleguan's launch date, its goals have been to inform, educate and entertain, stimulate art and culture, and encourage further commercial development through advertising activity. Transmitting sites for the network have been set up throughout history, the latest site being added in 2013 in Migues in Canelones Department to help strengthen network reception throughout the area.
