The 12:00 Squad is an animated television series created by Maeva Paquette and Katrine Jørgensen for Magic World Europe and originally broadcast from 2001 to 2005 and based on the book series of the same name by Paquette herself.
Much like the books, it revolves around the adventures of C.C., a pre-teen girl, and her friends as they embark on fantastical capers and adventures to solve mysteries and defeat enemies menacing their hometown during the late-night hours. The series was a MiniChannel original cartoon and, as such, was a Euro-Canadian co-production.
Premise[]
The series takes place in the seemingly idyllic suburbs of Sunnyside Heights, where bizarre events happen on the regular. Things are at their worst at night because (unbeknownst to the citizens) special protection requiring sunlight to keep the town guarded from any threat is no longer effective until the next sunrise. Fortunately, elementary schoolgirl C.C. and her ragtag team of friends (child prodigy Liam, wealthy girl Annabelle, arrogant prankster Tommy and tomboyish athlete Shelby) are always on the case, provided they drink a special formula to stay awake for one hour every time they wake up at midnight to solve the case.
