The Great Tank War happened when the tanks discovered Sensha-Do. Tankormulte banned Sensha-Do after its discovery, but some girls illegally immigrated to Tankormulte and did some Sensha-Do there. According to Document 203, any Sensha-Do matches happening must be stopped. 2 KV 1's went to interfere with them and were killed. Japanese republic was outraged due to this and war was then declared.
Australian forces helped Tankormulte by supplying the infantry Browning M2's.
Sensha-Do, believed to be formed in the 1920s (some speculated the actual date is the 1970s) is a considered "Martial Art" only practiced by females using tanks firing either Blank or Dummy Tracer rounds. Some early people who discovered it wanted it to be allowed in Tankormulte. The President said no, but then due to a petition signed, the president allowed it in 2012. Then, it caused chaos in urban areas and such. One part is the named "Anglerfish Team" destroying a Candy Shop ran by a WWII Veteran, injuring him and destroying his shop.

The War started in the Ibaraki Prefecture during a Sensha-Do festival. At first, the Tanks thought they can use Air Attacks to stop them, but it is later found out they use the Strike Witches the Sky and Kantai Fleet for Navy. Then, the tanks recruit worldwide forces.
Peace talks finally held. 34 year old Alexander Kostrikov (Костриков Александр) talked with the future mistress of Nishizumi style and the Japan Sensha-Dō Federation for peace talks. They never however, gave most of Tankormulte back.
2 Tankish squads and 4 Sensha-Dō never realized the war actually ended despite many attempts to tell them. These soldiers, in their 80s or 90s, still continued fighting, and weak Tankish forces also fought back. However, they couldn't due to weaknesses in them. Soon after, they started making a truce, and then later finally agreed the war has ended.
