Tone Riddles version

In 1994, Kuboian children's entertainer and comedian Tone Riddles recorded his own version of the song, which is more up-tempo and happy go-lucky than the original version of the song. Although Riddles originally performed the cover on his own, he later reworked on the song with fellow children's presenter Charlie Karma. The cover was released on 27th May, 1997, retitled La La La (The Long Road), as the official charity single for Kuboian Children's Day 1997.

Tone Riidles' version topped the Karuboia charts in June 1997, and remained at number one in the country for eleven non-consecutive weeks. It was the best-selling single in the country in 1997, as well as the 1990s decade as a whole.

Music video

The music video for "La La La (The Long Road)" features Charlie Karma and her puppet, Cyclone, one of the main characters in Charlie Karma and Friends, on a journey to meet Tone Riddles and his iconic puppet, Tack the Rat, at a log cabin. On their way there, Charlie and Cyclone are joined by Fuzzie, Blossom and Bumper. Bawk the Chicken makes a cameo appearance at a party which takes place at the end of the video.

The music video debuted during the Kuboian Children's Day telethon on 17th June, 1997. It was later uploaded to Tone Riddles' Vevo channel on YouTube on 15th September, 2009. The video currently has over 400 million views on YouTube.
