Thomas James Thicknesse (born October 5, 1946) is a British-born Canadian musician, singer-songwriter, actor and voice actor. He is the founder of the band Leap Year.
Early life[]
Born on October 5, 1946 in Birmingham, England, Thicknesse's family moved to Canada in 1949, first settling in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and eventually moving again to Ottawa in 1955. He showed an interest in music all throughout his childhood, thanks to a wind-up phonograph and rock 'n roll records. In his early years, Thicknesse taught himself how to play the guitar, bass and piano. He also developed a talent for singing and songwriting.
