Troy Kayserling (born June 11, 1945) is a Canadian director, producer and writer.

Early life[]

Troy was born in 1945 in the Atlit detainee camp in Atlit, Mandatory Palestine to Rachel (née Bähr) and Avigdor Kayserling. Both of them were Holocaust survivors from Hamburg, Germany. They emigrated to Canada in 1950 and settled in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Career[]

Troy directed his first film in 1977, a short film entitled "An Eye For My Eye". In 1988, he directed It's the Paul Taylor Movie!. He has described the film as "when I finally got nominated for everything short of a Palme d'Or, a Golden Bear, a Golden Lion, or a Razzie. Especially the Palme d'Or. We didn't feel like entering it into Cannes, but hey, a Oscar nominaton for Best Original Song and some Genie Award nominations are good too."

Personal Life[]

Troy is married to Argentine former model Millaray Kayserling (née Zanotti) and lives in Toronto and Honolulu.
