p/ClemWells199: "WFNH-13/Manchester has grown to be worse than the others in this department. Temptation Island didn't air on 13 after the switch of the Fox affiliation from WMUR-9 to WFNH (instead, it moved to a graveyard slot on then-UPN affiliate WAMN-53), and Married by America never ran in the market over-the-air (viewers did get to see it on WFXT-25/Boston on cable). I remember the night Married by America debuted - WFNH-13/WEVM-14 general manager Alonso Salvatierra came on screen and moaned about how Fox's latest reality show "doesn't meet our standards" and was "demeaning to the institution of marriage", and that Fox 13 would be airing something "more appropriate for family viewing": reruns of Frasier. Given that they ran MTV2 in late nights back then (a result of being a old affiliate of The Box, which MTV2 replaced on many a low-power station around the country), they would sometimes cover pre-empted Fox shows with MTV2's offerings (mostly blocks of music videos). They also didn't air Who's Your Daddy?, replacing it with an airing of Muppets from Space. WZBV-18/Brattleboro didn't air Fear Factor, which instead aired on a cable-only WB station, while on WAOT-34 the episode where the contestants had to strut down a catwalk naked in front of hundreds of people was interrupted by "Technical Difficulties" when it got to that part."

p/Sandwich2: "Reminds me of an incident at WYBC in Zanesville, Ohio. They did air Saving Private Ryan in 2004 unlike many other ABC affiliate, but then-owner Equity Broadcasting pulled a WLBT on some of the film's more violent moments."

p/DonnyDavid: "KDO-3 here in Bellingham, Washington refused to carry the first season of NYPD Blue, showing reruns of Cheers instead (the first season of NYPD Blue was shown here on Vancouver-based independent (now a Citytv affiliate) CKVU-10). Back in '85, they preempted the ABC Sunday Night Movie showing of The Shining and replaced it with (IIRC) a Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom special (Independent station KFBM-25 (now a Fox affiliate) would often air the ABC Sunday Night Movies that KDO refused to air, so, yes, KFBM did air The Shining's ABC Sunday Night Movie showing instead of KDO)."
