VGC Today is an English-language Filipino news and talk morning television show that airs on VGC. The program debuted on August 2, 1976. It was the first of its genre on Philippine network television.
Originally a weekday set of two shows from 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 a.m., then from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., it expanded as a single 90-minute program on weekends from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in 1990, then the weekday show became a single two-hour program from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in 1998.
For the show's initial run on its original weekday timeslot, it was in the ratings basement, behind ENetwork's Sunrise, partly because most affiliates preempted the show in favor of local morning newscasts out of frustration on its timeslot. It took the Nielsen ratings lead from Sunrise in 1998 when VGC revamped the weekday program's timeslot.
