In mid-1990, the Video CD (VCDs) were introduced in El Kadsre. The format was developed and manufactured by VCD-EK Forum, Theorysonic, Meroview, Kentsei and Naisuka. The support was added for TheoryMedia 7 and onwards, and Audvia 1991 and later models as well as the Codear CD in 1991. The format supports up to 60 to 80 minutes of playback and high-quality video resolution up to 240p or 360p. It was one of the most popular video formats in the El Kadsreian Islands and some El Kadsreian territories of Lechutan, Schaalberg. Welchemens, Seahaus and Taugaran, during the early-1990s to mid-2000s. It was also very popular in Asia.
It is available as a single or 2 to 8-part discs. The first movie was released on Video CD was The Campbell Brothers (1991).
Most of movies, shows and titles were distributed in this format by some video companies, including El TV Kadsre Home Entertainment, RGN Home Entertainment, Viva Video, CPN Home Entertainment, DMP Home Media, TCTV Home Video, and Taugaran Video Enterprises.
