Zabryn's Cosmic Blast is a wooden roller coaster located at Alex McCufferty's Wonderworld in Camberley, England. It is based off the character of the same name in Operation Goose and it opened with the park on April 3rd, 2009.

The coaster has a unique black and purple track colour along with modified space-themed Millenium Flyer trains designed in house by Great Coasters International themselves. It also has a galaxy theme as evident with the que line and station.

Ride experience[]

Queue[]

Guests enter the queue and are introduced into a heavily themed space station, TV screens are also mounted at the top of the que line, which consists of Zabryn (Zahra Oakley) explaining her fascination with space, planets and other futuristic things. An pre-recorded video of herself in a space crew uniform (similar to that of the ESA uniforms, only purple) is also seen on a bigger screen, where she entertains the guests walking in the line with 4th wall breaks, humourous remarks and information about the ride. Once guests climb upstairs, they will reach a "Hangar" area, where they will board the "spacecraft" trains.

Main Ride[]

Once all guests are secured and all safety checks have passed, the ride begins when Zabryn is seen on a display, where she tests her equipment and "commands" the train to go ahead on their journey ("All systems are go! We are clear for take off! Hold on, folks!"). The train departs into an enclosed chain lift hill that does light effects when the train goes up. Once it reaches the top, the train turns arounds, does a small drop and goes down a 98 ft drop into an 3 ft long underground space tunnel with stars and constellations. After that, it goes through a series of large twists and turns, going from left to right and into a few more space tunnels, before going into a series of airtime hills and into the final break run into a show section, where an animatronic of Zabryn says that the launch was a great success and that she congratulates the riders on volunteering to be space passengers. The ride then stops into the station, where guests exit on their right and collect their belongings, before heading down to the exit of the ride.

On-board Audio[]

Each train has their own unique song and it can be easily recognized by a small symbol on the side of each car.

However, the ride usually operates with 2 trains, which means that the Club train is often unused and only used in large capacities.

Awards[]

In 2009, Zabryn's Cosmic Blast was awarded "Best New Ride" by Amusement Today in their "Golden Ticket" publications. It was also ranked 6th and 3rd in the Top 50 Wooden Coasters in 2011 and 2015 respectively.
